Snapshot / Public Library Lovers Month

Yesterday was Snapshot - A Day in the Life of a Public Library.  We had our Genealogy volunteers assisting patrons and a childrens craft program.  We had a lot more people leave comments than I expected.  I took pictures and assisted with the Craft program.  I have been getting ready for Public Library Lovers Month.  We have Tim Dorsey coming, an outreach at the Senior Center, a puppet show and an adult craft.  I am doing the craft and designing al of the signs, bookmarks and posters.  I will also be doing the Senior Center event with Pam.

I played around with the widgets moving, adding and deleting them.  I have an account with cozie that I use as a kinda online journal/calender.  I enjoy using it a lot.  If I was attached to my home computer more I might find using a calender program more useful.

Thing 14

I looked at a couple of the sites.  I found most of the free e books were non fiction or classics.  I chose to search for newer titles.  Google had a nice easy page to navigate.  Downside to their site was it was a little hard to dind out what formats they supported.  Currently the support Sony Reader, Kindel , Android, I Phone and Ipads.  I have see e books listed when I use amazon looking for titles for the library.

I can not say that I enjoyed this THING.  I found that alot of the podcasts were blocked.  I was able to find a news one.  It is the same as listening to a book on audio to me.  I started out at podcast.com and had no luck so I tried to google podcast and different subjects.  Finally I gave up and went to mediafly and listen to a podcast on CNN.  I will try at home and see if I have better luck.  If I was using just to listen then they would be nice but I like to a video to go with it.

Gadgets

Today I played with adding gadgets to my blog.  I tried to play with html codes for templets but, did not get it right.  I will continue to play and see what else I can learn.

Happy New Year

I am hoping to do better with utilizing my blog more efficiently.  I set up the Tim Dorsey Display.  He will be here Feb. 3, 2011.
